A GROUP of innovative students recently celebrated success after winning a prestigious biodiversity project with energy company Equinor.

The initiative, which focused on creating sustainable biodiversity solutions in the ocean, has also inspired their future career paths.

The project began when Equinor approached the Year 12 students with a challenge centered on biodiversity development.

Hayden, Lucas, Max and Seb beat around 20 other teams with their project, which demonstrated creativity, research skills and technical knowledge.

Lucas said: “Equinor visited us here at the school with a project focused on creating biodiversity in the ocean such as wind turbines, which is what our project was based on.”

Max added: “We were asked questions about our project after attending their HQ in Great Yarmouth and were given a tour of Equinor’s facilities, including the warehouse and the ships.”

Seb added: “It was amazing to see how just two people could operate such a complex vessel. It was really great. I definitely want to work offshore and in electrical work”

The team’s achievement is even more impressive considering they were competing against 20 other groups.

Their success stands as a testament to their dedication, innovative thinking, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

The Equinor biodiversity project is particularly important as the world increasingly focuses on sustainable development and renewable energy solutions.
