Why did you come to UTCN?

I came to UTCN because I heard it wasn’t like normal colleges. My brother came to UTCN and through hearing about his experiences, I decided I wanted something similiar.

What did you like about UTCN?

I loved the atmosphere of the School. The School certainly has a good reputation and to be a part of that was just amazing. From the first day, there were high expectations which helped push me further.

Why did you apply for your apprenticeship?

I applied for my apprenticeship because I loved every moment of the work experience I did in year 13 at Scottish Power Renewables. I knew then that this was what I wanted to do.

What do you do in your apprenticeship?

I’m currently studying at college gaining the qualification which will allow me to problem solve and fix/ maintain wind turbines.

What advice would you give current UTCN students?

Take a risk! What’s the worse that could happen? A walked past a the Scottish Power Renewables building and liked the looked for the company. I took a chance and emailed them about work experience. If it wasn’t for taking a risk and emailing about work experience, I wouldn’t be doing what I love.
