Student Sam will become the youngest-ever entry to a national endurance sports car championship.

He will take part in 12 contests across the country for the Britcar Trophy Championship.

Sam, who is being sponsored by Dragon Sport Racing, will also take part in the Spanish Endurance Championship.

Remarkably, the Year 11 student only took up the sport just over a year ago but won the Fiesta Junior Mk6 Championship last year and in 2024 has already been a finalist in the Mini Challenge UK scholarship race.

He said: “It’s very exciting to know that I will be the youngest-ever racer in the competition. I’m not nervous about it now. I was at Donington race track recently and I was recording faster times than those who had been doing it for much longer than me. I love touring car racing and it is a huge dream to one day be able to do it as a career. I think everyone likes the idea of having your hobby as your job.I’m just going to give it my best shot and see if I get any interest. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
